Emotional Matters

Everyone has been in a place where we are searching for how we feel about certain things or situations. This past weekend I heard it best from Dr. Benny Tate about someone he spoke with that said " Fill me up Lord" and Dr. Tate mentioned that we need to be filled continuously with the Holy Spirit, asking for His presence because we all leak sometimes. And what do we leak? Most of the time it's emotions regardless of if we show them or not.

In 1 Peter verse 7 mentions that we should cast our cares upon Him, who is Jesus because He cares for us. And when we dig a little deeper Jesus mentions in Matthew 11:28-30 to go to Him those who labor, or work, and are heavy laden, or burdened, that He will give you rest. He also states why we have this permission because He is gentle and lowly in heart and it's in Him we find rest for our souls. Our souls being our Mind, Will and Emotions! (I'll post more about this later)

To be gentle and lowly in heart is to know that the yoke Jesus carries is easy and light. It's hard to process anything when you feel like you aren't being heard or your emotions are leaking because you feel like you have no one to talk to. Jesus hears everything, He is the God who hears, El Shama, and He knows the emotions that you carry and the emotions that you release. Hebrews 4:15 expresses that Jesus is the one who can sympathize with our weaknesses, because He was tempted in ALL points as we are and yet did not sin. Emotions look like weaknesses when really our emotions are our strengths! The Holy Spirit is not to be grieved because within the emotions that He carries and refills us with is that of Power, Love, and a Sound Mind! (2 Timothy 1:7)
